There have been videos floating around the internet for a few years now of various exoskeleton suits that different folks have been working on. I just came across this video from TED talks where this fellow Eythor Bender of Berkeley Bionics is announcing his companies new devices which are finally coming to the public market. This is revolutionary stuff, and I am happy to see that it is not only being used for military purpose.
I am not sure if it is practical for some people, the cost will probably be pretty high I imagine. Regardless, people now have this option who have been immobilized, and I think that is just great news. Check out the video!
The military application has been the focus of many previous videos, in fact this is one of the first times I have seen a medical application demonstrated along side the military. Very uplifting stuff.
